1.  revive  (verb) to regain health, vigor, or good spirits

The Questing Beast had revived under the influence of kindliness and bread-and-milk.

2.  aggression (noun) an act of attack;  hostile or destructive behavior

No pigeon has ever committed an act of aggression nor turned upon her persecutors; but no bird, likewise, is so skillful in eluding them.

3.  advantage (noun) a superior or beneficial factor; a favorable position

Owls see in the daylight just as well, only they happen to possess the advantage of seeing pretty well at night also.

4.  flourish  (verb) to grow well;  to be productive

An oak sapling ... grew, flourished, and shed its leaves into nakedness, all in the time during which you could slowly count three.

5.  accurately (adverb) in a way that is precisely and measurably correct

He always used a bow too big for him, and did not shoot very accurately with it either.

6.  associate (verb)  to join as a partner or friend

As the day became nearer, the two boys drifted apart,  for Kay did not care to associate with the Wart any longer on the same terms.

7.  vigil  (noun) keeping watch during a time when others are sleeping

“People say it’s lonely and terrible for him in this vigil, but it isn’t at all really...”
“If I were to be made a knight,” said the Wart, staring dreamily into the fire, “I should insist upon keeping my vigil all by myself.”

8.  exhaust  (verb) to use up, run out of, or deplete

To learn ... is the only thing which the poor mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting.

9.  alter    (verb) to change, make different, or modify

If I am to have my choice, I will stay just as I am.  I will not alter any of the parts which You gave to me...

10.  humbly  (adverb) in a way that shows respect or submission to
   higher rank;  not showing pride

“Sir,” said Sir Ector humbly, “will ye be my good and gracious lord when ye are King?”
