What is the assignment?
Your group will work together to research and produce a poster showing information about one of these states: the city-state of Kilwa, the kingdom of Kongo, or the kingdom of Zimbabwe. The total size of the poster will be 12 by 18 inches unless requested larger.

Requirements
Poster title must show the name of the state. Each topic on the poster must contain:
- Title of the topic in capital letters
- Name of the person who researched and produced it
- Illustration (a visual symbol, drawing, magazine picture, or computer picture)
- 4 to 5 facts
- Vocabulary words listed under "essential vocabulary"
Quality Criteria
- Clear and understandable:
- Easy to read and allows the viewer to gain a clear understanding of the features of your state. This is the most important.
- Complete and accurate:
- Includes all essential vocabulary.
- No errors of fact.
- Prominent and appropriate visuals:
- Drawings, pictures, maps, symbols, etc., which add meaning.
- For example, if trade consists of shipping, perhaps a picture of a sailing ship.
- Neatness:
- Proper materials: clean paper, rulers for straight lines, markers, crayons or pencils sharpened
- Straight writing, cutouts cut and glued neatly
